Shoulder Pain from DB Flyers

Hey old guys,

I have yet another question. When I am doing incline DB flyers I am getting alot of pain in my right shoulder. I like doing them because I really get burn in my chest. Should I be looking at it as a form or flexibilty issue?

More likely you should be looking at it as a stupidity issue.

Um, so don’t DO that!

There. Problem fixed!

So much for asking an old guy … er, gal … for advice, eh?

The pain you are feeling, is it muscle or joint pain?

Is there any “odd” noises (more than normal) coming from the joint itself?

When you place your hand on the shoulder joint, can feel any “clunking” or “clicking” as you rotate the arm/ joint?

Is there any pain in the shoulder during any other movements?

Have you lost mobility in the shoulder?

Does it hurt while doing a throwing motion?

The pain you are feeling could be either form, flexibility and or something completely different. Until the above questions are clarified, Cappy is absolutely right… stop doing the movement so that you do not do any additional damage.
