Shoulder Pain During Front OHP

I’ve recently realized the behind the neck press does not cause shoulder impingement while OHP to the front does. After reading most of the article on T-Nation about the OHP and specifically the BTN Press, it seems to be the consensus that the BTN Press is too dangerous to add into a normal routine in substitution of the OHP.

If I don’t feel impingement during this exercise should I keep it in my program? Or is the risk of injury truly high enough to relegate me to dumbbells only? I severely want to get back into pressing overhead, especially with the full activation of the barbell, but I don’t want another RC injury to roadblock my training.

What’s wrong with Arnold Presses? Protects your shoulders and you can still go heavy, plus unilateral work helps correct muscle imbalances in the dominant side.
