'Selling' Hunted Meat?

It is my understanding that you can not sell hunted meat. However, you can give it away. If you make something like burgers can you say you are selling the ingredients (bread, veggies, toppings) and giving the patty for free? Would this be legal? A loophole?

Doesn’t make sense to me to not be able to sell meat that you hunted and paid a tag for. It costs you time and money each time to go out and hunt and may or may not come back with anything.

Ontario says differently as all meat needs to be inspected before sale even. I would imagine it to be applied to hunted animals that are for profit.

If you are talking about a restaurant, probably not. I’ve been to a couple of places that serve game meat and waterfowl but they have to get licenses in order to do that.
