Seasonal Training

I read in one of Dan Johns books about changing programs with the seasons. its a little more advanced than 6 months bulking, 6 months cutting. For those us that no longer have specific sports to train for id like to discuss it. Im interested in hypertrophy but im not a bodybuilder, im interested in strength work but im not a powerlifter etc… it gives me a chance to play with & rotate through programs, supplements, lifts (back squats in Autumn & overhead squats in Summer) & diets that spike my interest throughout a 12 month period. An example for me may be:

Winter: 5/3/1 + Carb Cycle Diet (indoors, go hard, go heavy & go home)
Spring: Triathlon specific + Anabolic Diet (1st 4 weeks may be Velocity diet)
Summer: WW4SB + Carb Cycle Diet (focusing on oly lifts & lots of outdoor training)
Autumn: Doggcrapp + Palumbo Diet

In terms of supps, i may use a fat burner over spring & drop the surge, i may test CTs peri-workout protocol over winter with a test booster, i may use creatine mono over Autumn & Winter but drop it for Spring etc… next year i might do EDT or HFT for 12 weeks instead of DC. im interested in your thoughts & experiences…

Looks like a disaster to me, but then again I’d rather focus on one thing and be good at it rather than swinging back and forth between conflicting goals.

fair point… i solely focussed on MMA for 5 years before that got taken from me.
