Scrawny to Brawny

So I tried Big Boy Basics last week, just like you guys said. Man, I was burned out, way to sore, I think BBB is too much for me right now. Would a simple 3x5 program be ok for a newbie? I think there is a program called riptoe??? Which is simple compound moves, three times a week.

Or would I be better off trying TBT? I’m trying to pack right now, not really concerned about strength at the moment. Thanks


You can tone down that program until you feel ready to go at it 100%.

Do you mean Madcow’s 5x5? If not it should be similar.


How about the modified Delorme from Pavel’s Beyond Bodybuilding? Bench and Deadlift 3 times a week.

Well if you want a workout style that can break you into working out if you feel you’re getting sore too much.

Try 1-2 months of this format of exercising:

3-4 exercises per body part.
Sets : 3 , Reps : 10
2-3 body parts a day

The main focus would be technique,control on the concentric and eccentric phase and working on your mind muscle connection.
