I’m going to have some time to kill over the holidays and started Michael Sullivan’s books (finished Riyria Revelations and halfway through Legends of the First Empire). They’re very engaging and a fairly quick read. @Hostile I gauge them similar Sanderson’s Mistborn series.
He also does an interesting strategy where he writes the entire series before releasing the first book. The books are then released at an interval over a year or two. He is able to tie a lot of little things from early books into later plot developments because of the strategy and I much prefer to know that I won’t be waiting 10 years for the next book to come out (ya, talking about you Rothfuss)
