When my mom was young, she and her siblings raised some animals that the family would eventually eat. My grandfather made them name the animals something food related. The pigs would be named “Bacon” or “Short Rib” or somthing, lambs were “Lamb Chop”, etc. Pretty funny.
Grew up on a farm as well. Shot a rabit in early April when I was 16 and all my younger siblings danced around the grill singing “we’re going to eat the Easter bunny!”

But really, the kids need to learn where from the damn meat comes. I bet a lost of kids who never saw a real cow, and possibly never seen it on the tv, think their real color is purple.
I went to school in a ruralish area in massachusetts that still has a lot of farms ect. I said I was for hunting and the whole class of 11th grade students almost started a revolt, some of the girls looked like they were about to cry. LIVE BAMBI LIVE!!! I was a fucking cold heart mother fucker because deer hunting improves the quality of life for the majority of the population.They werent hesitant to wish death upon my dog though, she deserved it. People are so fucking delusional.
I grew up on a farm and was involved in slaughtering cows sheep and pigs from about 6 i was carrying organs and before that watching. We named our animals, cool names like “veal” and “steak” and “delicious” etc. Ah good times and I turned out a fine individual, who likes meat.
