Today I took my bench down a few pounds and started a 3x5 for it. What I'm also focusing on is pulling my shoulder blades together. Once I do this it makes the rom much shorter, is that what is supposed to happen when you do that?
Also I bench with my upper back and ass firmly pressed into the bench and trying to drive my feet through the floor.
Yes this is a proper bench press setup. Unless your crazy flexible and overdoing your arch you are fine.
no, there is no more arch than normal. Also, I feel almost kind of unstable in this positio. I think its just because I have not used it much, once i get more used to it will I feel more stable?
