Scapula retraction

I’ve always benched w/o squezzing my shoulder blades together. I never knew you should until I read articles from here and saw Kings video on the bench press.

But should you use scapula retraction for all bench? Inlcine, decline, and how about flyes?

And also when you guys do deadlifts, do you retract your scapula before you lift or @ the end of the lift?
