When I can be bothered I’ll mix in sushi seasoning (rice vinegar sugar and salt) with a fresh batch of rice. Add other things as desired e.g. Avocado for fat and tuna for protein

It’s like shovelling down sushi by the spoonful.

I might have to try this!

Miso.

Take 1 tablespoon (not the packet stuff), stir it up in some boiling water (first a little water to avoid lumps).

Throw vegetables in for a few minutes. Throw thin slices of lean meat in for a few minutes (noodles optional)

Done.

Forgot to mention: add crushed dried seaweed for aesthetics

I make a lot of sauces/pestos from scratch. Super easy really, just blend some veg and seeds/nuts together and you’re good to go. Avocado, spinach, basil and cashews is a great one. Tomato, chilli, red capsicum and thyme is great too

#7

You just blend this and it turns into pesto? I love pesto. I’ve actually never looked up how it’s really made.

I picked this up from a Berardi article on tnation:

Big bunch spinach (I dunk into boiling water first)
2 whole tomatoes (I peel first)
1 onion, roughly chopped
3 cloves garlic
Salt, pepper, curry powder
1/2 cup water

Puree up and store (freezes well enough)

Fry up chicken, toss the above through with some greek yoghurt (10% fat)

Serve with green beans & rice.

Seriously good.

Anyone mention Salsa yet?

Goes on/with everything. Could eat all day everyday.

Unfortunately where I live can’t find any places selling big jugs of it.

I like to use Pico de Gallo with my egg whites during the summer.

In the cooler months, I enjoy roasting my sweet potatoes with a little bit of natural honey.

Bacon Chipotle flavored seasoning from Grill Mates is pretty awesome on my chicken.

Lemon infused salt on my steak

Cinnamon and some brown sugar on my oats

Knowing how to make a simple pan sauce was pretty much a game-changer.

I most often use water, chicken broth, or red or white wine, then toss in some dried parsley, black pepper, and a slice of butter. Red pepper flakes, garlic powder, lemon juice, and/or basil are also good go-to’s depending on what you want to end up with.

You can also make your own “buffalo hot sauce” by using something like Frank’s Red Hot as the liquid. Only downside is that you basically tear gas yourself while it’s reducing, so get some ventilation.
