Ryan Kennelly New World Record 1070

ryan kennelly apa 4/11/08 meet - YouTube Monstrous also notice his raw strength is very impressive 725 3 board warm up. 1100 should go down sometime soon it looks like…

holy crap…

This guy blows past these weights like… well I can’t think of metaphore good enough.

And he’s not playin’ with some lame-ass increments either.

Not sure if we’re from the same species…

BEASTLY!!!

I wish I had a back ike that. Does anyone know his sq/dl?

That was wild.

Is the raw record still 715lbs? That’s the highest I’ve seen.

It is.

As for why Ryan doesn’t take it… he’s nothing to gain from doing it.

He smashes it - big deal, we already knew he was the strongest

He misses it - Cheating gear whore

In addition, if he was to break it, it would just give the trolls an exact amount of carryover to hate on.

Officially I think it is, but I’m pretty sure if Kennelly can do 725 that easy as a warm up 3 board, he could crush that record. Ditto Hanley.

I like how he looks like he’s actually fitness inclined. Their lifts are still impressive, i just hate people hitting 800 geared bench but having a huge guy/ being massively not muscular looking. he looks like he could do that weight.

I mean yeah, those are reasonable arguements for sure. But we are talking about a WR here, who wouldn’t want the title of WR holder in raw bench? Surely he’d be willing to risk some idiots hating on him for missing a lift in a comp to hold both bench records. Maybe he’s waiting to build it up so it’s a sure fire thing?

He’s a Bench Specialist. His routine looks like this:

Day 1: Heavy Back
Day 2: Speed Bench
Day 3: Heavy Legs
Day 4: Heavy Bench

I doubt Ryan Kennelly deadlifts since I’m pretty sure all he competes in right now is the Bench Press.

In an interview where he gave this very same training split he said he squats 700lbs on his Heavy Legs day. I don’t know if that’s 700 raw or 700 with Squat Briefs. I doubt it’s 700 with a Squat Suit. I wouldn’t be surprised if he does 700X5. The only reason he Squats is so he can maintain his weight and his whole body strength. As a bench specialist, I don’t think he’d benefit very much from Deadlifting and it would most likley interfere with the rest of his training.

Not to play down on the Godly Feat of strength that is a 900-lb 3 board press but there’s a guy on YouTube who plays the character “The Masked Bencher.” I don’t think he’s sponsored. I can’t understand why. He’s done 900 off a 3 board. And in just a few more months he posts another video where he barely misses touching 900 with no boards. Someone should be paying for his shirts. Oh, and this guys videos are quite possibly funnier than Wendler Vision.

Ryan Kennelly tried 1300 off a 4 board or 5 board or something like that and missed it. But the fact that he even tried that lift says to me that he surely could hit 1250 off whatever board he tried 1300 on. Ha, doing board work with weights above the World Record Squat. That’s just beyond manly.

Keep in mind that Ryan Kennelly was the first 800lb bencher in history. Now there are several 800lb benchers. The sky is the limit.

He looks bloated as hell in this video but
there’s a video of him at the Animal Pak display at this years Arnold where he Benches 315 for 40 full reps just to get a free t-shirt. He looks a lot leaner and that wasn’t that long ago. I wounder if he gains like 30lbs before a meet to improve his leverage?

I don’t think I’ve ever seen non muscular looking guys lifting huge numbers. Sure, I’ve seen some guys with some leverage, but also very massive.

- YouTube sure he is massive but he does not look like a muscular monster like ryan does.

why?

Love the music in the video. I was wondering is that a rage x ryan is wearing or is it different one can’t tell…

Next time I start thinking I’m hardcore, I’ll just say to myself;

“Do I need five 300 pound men to spot me when I’m benching yet? And a mouthpiece so I don’t crunch my face like pretzel stick should I drop the weight?”

I wonder if Ryan ever gets tired of breaking world records. How is he not a goddamn millionaire from this?

I’ve heard he trains his squat very hard for leg drive, but rarely deadlifts. Haven’t heard any numbers.

Ryan Kennelly Profile! according to an old article he still trains squat and deadlift unlike some bench pressers. Says on there around 750, though he is much stronger now so I’m guessing 800’s. He is an all around strong guy, and the best bencher in the world.

It’s a super dooper phenomon (yes, I’m serious). I believe it’s a triple ply with scooped super neck.

He changed over to it last year at some stage, gained a chunk load of muscle and his bench just took off.
