Russian Cycle (Ken Lain)

Has anyone tried the 6 week Russian powerlifting cycle, Ken Lain’s Matrix, 3x3, Shuyeko(sp?), etc.??

What have your results been with any of these programs?

no but ill be at ken lain’s bench press chalenge this weekend i could ask him about his routine

Thanks for the reply, it was getting lonely with no posts. I have seen Lain’s matrix workout, but I never tried it.

I am interested in the russian cycle and may give it a try after a few months.

I did that for the front squat years ago. It is brilliant, but I don’t think you can do it for more than one lift. Those 6 sets of 5 and 6 sets of 6 days are brutal. You do become a machine though…

Somewhere on my “old stuff” on my site, I have DAve Turner’s adaption for drug free guys who have lives…its an O lift program, but it works well.

I think I jumped like forty pounds on my front squat, but what really impressed me was how my Clean and Jerk shot up. Really, after doing this, I didn’t have to work on my FS for about a year…it was “locked in.”

Hey Dan,
Could you post a link for the Dave Turner Get Up article. I remember reading it but I really don’t want to go fishing though all of that good literature. I’ll end up getting distracted but the rest of the great articles and it will take me all weekend:-)

Danny,

40lbs is impressive. The routine sounds like it is better suited for lower body work than upper body work. I will definitely have to give it a shot one day in the near future.
