Ruptured Lymph Node from Squatting?

Hey fellas, I’ve been doing Wendler 5/3/1 for about 3 months. Had a large lump develop in left groin/front of my left hip region about 6 weeks ago. Saw a doc and he decided to cut it out after about 6 weeks of severe swelling (swollen lymph nodes are normally pea-sized, mine was cherry tomato-sized). Had the follow-up today and the first thing he said to me was “Do you do heavy squats?” Apparently, the lymph node wasn’t swollen, but it had actually ruptured. He said it was just a mess of lymphatic tissue. He thinks it’s from the pressure on that area at the bottom of a heavy squat.

Granted, my back squat is about 405 which isn’t heavy to some of you guys but it is to mere mortals like me. Anyone ever heard of a ruptured inguinal lymph node from squatting? I thought those things were pretty tough – they stand up to direct strikes in MMA all the time.

You guessed it… Doc says no squatting for a few weeks.
