Just take it easy on the piss the night before and prepare yourself for the worst.

You might think you are a fairly quick runner but they can get anyone. An Australian Olympic runner was actually gored by a bull in the festival a few years back. So if they got him, they can get anybody.

A mate of mine ran it a couple of years ago and the woman he started next to ended up in Hospital in a critical condition.

I was pretty lucky to start up the front of the pack and didn’t encounter any problems. Many did though.

Read the fine print on your travel insurance too. Many don’t cover the running of the bulls. So a broken leg, arm and etc could cost you some serious money.

i did it twice in 97 and 99. do it. have fun. its not nearly as dangerous as the media makes it out to be. most people who get gored have been drinking all night and are deliberately trying to get close to the bull. the people you see who are running alongside the bull or a couple steps ahead of the bull are usually doing that on purpose to make it more exciting. the truth is that you get such a big head start on the run and the crowd of people is big enough that if you stay at the front or middle of the pack of people it is unlikely a bull will get anywhere close to you.
