What did you decide to do? How has it been working?

I dialed back both intensity and volume, and now working back up. My lifts feel better than ever now that I’m stopping 2 reps short of failure. I can add weight workout to workout and feel like I’m making progress. Also working on the mental aspect of things, trying not to ego lift and be at peace if I can’t make a jump in weight every week.

I just started Johnny Candito’s strength/hypertrophy program. I’m going to see how that goes.

Also giving myself a bit of a diet break, eating at maintenance or a little over for the last week and feeling a lot more motivated.

That’s great, I’m glad to hear you’re back on track.

Sometimes less is more effective. That’s the drawback to superfreak, easy gainer genetics. Your response to training is so awesome that if you do too much too hard it’s too disruptive to your system to recover from.
