So this summer I need to get my erg time down for college, but I also need to get ready for cross-country season (and they are equally important to me). So right now I’m erging 5 days a week in the morning, and running 6-7 days a week in the afternoon. Also I’m doing basic strength exercises like pull-ups, push-ups and squats every day. I’m basically combining the training for both sports. Can I expect to get better at both of them with adequate nutrition and sleep? Or will I just get worse at both?
Weight: 175-180 lbs (7% bf)
2k erg: 6:32 (need to get under 6:30)
5k run: 16:29 (want to get under 16:00)
Is this an impossible feat or am I wasting my time? What do I need to do?
