Just watched this . Nearly as good as the old one. It emphasises different parts of the book too, so you can watch both. Anyone else like it . I think it was last year in the US.
I watched the original when i was a kid, and have the new one in my DVR but didn’t start it yet.
Might have to watch it. My favorite line from the 70’s one is where the old man tries to feed Kunta bacon and he flips the plate.
“Oh you’re one of THOSE Africans. If you believe in Jesus you can have ribs and fatback.”
The wife and I quote that to this day when we eat pork.
I like the scene where Kunte Kinte father advised against facing down wild beats. Also when he refused to be named Toby - to obey.
