Roid Rage .... A Myth ?

hey guys i kno its bit silly question, cuz i kno this old 70s-80s crappy roid rage theory, which most of the oracles of roid say does’t exist.
but one incident that occured with me has put me on doubt regd roid rage. i m very calm and quiet guy, usually never get angry or physically abusive of others. rite now i m on Sust(500mg/week) based cycle. around a week ago i was having a argument with some guy at my Univ, argument gained heat and usually when it happens i shut my mouth and walk away, but to my astonishment i jumped on that guy start beating shit out of him. until my friend pulled me back. i was pretty taken aback at my sudden outburst . which i have little memory of.
is it possible that juices were part of culprit in this angry physical outburst.
i am not a brawl creator kinds, i have’t been in a fight for last 4-5 yrs.
have any of u guys ever experienced this kind of situation ?

Oh this is going to get interesting. I might just pop some popcorn for this one.

Maybe you’re not so calm and quiet after all. You could just be an asshole, and the drugs gave you a reason to let it out. Not trying to flame here, but it’s something to think about. Do you get rambunctious like that when you drink? Maybe the guy deserved the ass-whuppin’ you gave him? It’s hard to say without more to the story here.

If I was you I would definitely be thinking about not doing that kind cycle again if you are going to let yourself have outbursts like this. Don’t make excuses for yourself. This is your fault, not the drugs. Sustanon didn’t throw that punch… you did.

Chill = Good.

whip that bitch good!

I think it’s all depending on how your body handles the roids. Some people may react differently than others. I can’t say anything for sure, exept punch high and kick low!!!

Good luck!

One incident, one cycle (tell me if I’m wrong here, is this your first cycle)…hardly a case for roid rage I would think. I tick the myth box on this one.
How about looking into other issues other then roid rage, maybe this is a guy that simply pisses you off and you wanted to knock some of his shit out through his nose, I would say that is not roid rage but simply the testosterone that we all have, I get agitated sometimes too. Don’t we all?
Any how, steroids get the blame for suicide too. Read the thread on that, another myth to add to the steroid fairytale the media is constantly crafting.

LMAO! No butter for me please…

The myths behind steroid use and rage are just that… a myth! AAS use will bring out the worst AND the best in all of us. It will amplify an individual in every dept… mental, emotional, and of course, physical. The chemicals we take don’t turn us into “assholes”, an individual needs to be one to begin with.

AAS use, above all, should amplify one’s maturity. And again, you need to have SOME maturity to begin with before you even start any chemical enhancement. On a personal note, I have done 4 times the amount of Sustanon in the past that you are doing now, with NO signs of rage.

I think Lothario said it best:

I am in no way calling you an “asshole” or immature. Bottomline is, everyone should take those things we learn in the gym (discipline, control, commitment, sacrifice, dedication, etc) and apply them OUTSIDE the gym as well. Good luck.

I think people blame anything on anything unusual. Anytime something bad happens everyone looks for something to blame. Like a scapegoat ( right usage?). If someone does anything wrong or unusual, people blame the first thing that he/she has done that they find odd, or something that they don’t like.

2 grams of sust ayy Juicy LOL. Just playing bro.

Seriously though some good answers have been given here. Gear won’t make you into an asshole. However if you already where an asshole it wil make you a bigger one  I also agree that it intensifies just about any emotion you might be feeling. NOW HERE’S THE IMPORTANT PART. REALIZE THIS. If you’re an adult and make the decision to use drugs whether it be alcohol, weed, or juice there will be some side affects.

Here’s an example I’ve used many times. When I get drunk I tend to get real lovely and happy or for a better word horny. I get the increased urge to have sex with the women around me (perhaps even ones I shouldn’t for one reason or another). So do I just go and bang em out (kinda like you did to the a-hole in your story). Well contrary to what some here may believe NO I don’t. I use my logic and recognize that I’m on a drug right now (alcohol as we’ll all agree is a drug). Then I have to make the decision whether or not I think it a good idea or if this is clearly the booze talking.

Same goes with the juice. You’ve chosen to put yourself in a situation where you most likely won’t be judged the same as everybody else because you’re on juice. So PLEASE remember (and this is for everybody myself included) that even though it might seem like the right thing to do sometimes you’ll just have to suck it up to keep people from thinking you (a steroid user) are some roid raging maniac. Once you make that decision you have to constantly be aware of what the stereotypes are and whether or not you want to fall victim to them.

BTW, just out of curiousity did this guy hit you first or make you feel as though he was definitely goin to and you where danger? If not then you really need to consider why you felt the need to do that. Now I’ll step off my soapbox for a moment and suggest that for future references it’s much better to catch somebody when no one is around as opposed to right in the middle of a loud heat arguement. Assuming it’s absolutely neccessary.

Here’s something else to consider. Say you caught this dick in his temple and he died (it can happen). Then you’d be all over the news as a roid raging college student who snapped and went into a homocidal rage. Yeah I know it’s over dramtatic and I’ve already made my point but honestly this is just as much for myself as it is you. We’re all under the looking glass boys (especially now) so let’s just keep that in mind.

I am 23 and have been training for last 5-6 years seriously and it was my fourth cycle. in last 2 years. and i dont drink or smoke, so i am pretty much free of all other influences. and i am not blaming roids for what i did, i accept what i did was my responibility. but i was just curious about it, if its possible.

argument took a nasty turn towards religion and other issue and he kept abusing my god so i think thats what got me.yes i was the one to initiate and finish the fight, the other guy was too weak to even reply back. no i am not bragging just telling the facts. i think its not worth fighting with a guy who is not in you own league.not beacuse i am dickhead who flexes and flashes muscles at every oppurtinity but because i think sometimes its a cowardly thing to go after who is much weaker then you.

i appreciate input from all you guys and splly from Wideguy.

Different things affect different people in different ways. Take alcohol for instance. You have the crying drunk, the “I love you man” drunk, the asshole fighting drunk, and so on. Steroids have never had the rage effect on me.

I am a former kickboxer, and even after some major cycles, I never lost my temper, in or out of the ring. And believe me, you get some newbie sparing partner who is trying to impress people and does not understand sparring, it would be easy to lose your temper. I would say that on a cycle and taking as much protein as you can handle, your innards (sp?) sometimes-oftentimes feel like shit. That has led me to be pretty grumpy at times, but rage levels? Never.

I would agree with the common theme here. The people I have seen who flew off in a “roid rage” already had a strong disposition towards violence. This is one of the main reasons I avoid the juice.I already know that I have a strong tendency to act agressively.

OK., I’ll chime in here also. I agree that ultimately everyone is responsible for their own actions–regardless of the extenuating circumstances. However, I don’t think this issue is as simple as “the roids didn’t throw that punch, you did”.

For some reason people involved in a certain activity, substance, lifestyle, etc. will defend every aspect of it, regardless of the logic or evidence. Who says everthing is supposed to be vanila icecream, white bread safe and unoffensive? We’re adults, and as such we can decide for ourselves if the risks are balanced by the rewards–and there are risks involved in AAS use. It’s not the role of government to “sanitize” society and protect us from all risks.

Now, just to be clear, I believe the “roid rage” idea is almost always overstated; however, this is not the same as saying it does not, and can not, exist. Hormones can have profound effects on people’s behaviour–does anyone really doubt this? Furthermore, as a youg adult it seems to me that your brain may very well be in a state of change and development–both neurally and biochemically. So, while you need to look inward first for the answers to your actions, there are certain people who should not use certain substances. They may have an incompatible personality, lack of emotional maturity and control, etc.

Finally, as individual reactions to different substances will vary, some will invariably fall outside the norms. Therefore, some individuals may be prone to actual “roid rage”–for whatever exact reason they just can’t handle the effects of AAS. Hell, I used to have a girlfriend who would have “weed blackouts”! That’s right, anytime she smoked even a little bit of pot she went into a blackout–couldn’t remember a thing untill she was straight. Not hardly a typical reaction! Needless to say, I only saw her smoke pot once.

So your a religious NUT JOB on steroids that most likely would get all bant if an ATHEIST debates the existance of YOUR GOD And like you said he was too weak to even fight back WAY TOO GO RELIGIOUS DOUCHE BAG .

I’m not going to get into this too far and call you any names like GPS did. I will say that fighting over a religious dispute is one of worst reasons I can possibly think of for you to have acted the way you did. WHY? Real simple bro. The worst, most unresolveable (sp) and destructive battles have/are still started for this very reason. Nobody ever wins.

If some guy has a hard on for you and gets in your face repeatedly and one way or another you know he’s goind to sneak you. By all means fold his ass up like a lawn chair (try to make it when nobody’s looking). Now that might have been the case here, as you some religious extremists (if you’re punching people out in the name of your religion I think that qualifies you as an extremist) are very violent. Only you know the answer to that one.

this comment may come in a bit late, but when I did my first cycle and reflect on my attitude i was a little more aggresive, maybe not physically, but I did notice it. the next cycle was much better, just amplified everything good, back to my good old self. maybe he did just really get your got. did he crack a mama jock?

well that was quite a flame. i dont want to start a war of words here. but i would sure like to defend my situation here.first of all other guy was’t an atheist and i respect everybody’s opinion ( be it religion or any thing else).everybody has a right to think and act on what they belive on. but it doest give them right to look down upon others believes and say that this is bullshit. i belive on what i belive and i respect what others belive, and my believes are not conformed by others. if it was an intellectual conversation i m all for it. but if somebody attacks you on some thing i m not one of those who will sit back and watch fire pass by, i will go and fight fire with fire.

You’re a bush fan aren’t you?

I think it has a lot to do with your actual mind set when you are taking steriods. I have noticed sometimes I’m a lot more agressive than others. Normally, I’m very chilled, very relaxed, but sometimes, especially when I’m pumped up mentally, and feeling good physically, I take issue with things that I would normally let slide.

This isn’t to say that I’m stomping the monkey shit out random people, or punching people because they said something I didn’t like. I am more likely to use the sentence “What the fuck did you just say?”, and see what happens from there. If steriods made me feel mentally pumped up and feeling strong physically, I can see I would probably get into more trouble.

This sounds a bit like the debate in Australia concerning rum drinkers (not your gay Bacardi Rum - real, manly Bundaberg Rum). Several bars have stopped serving rum to their patrons as they believe rum drinkers are more likely to start fights. Is it the rum, or are the rum drinkers assholes to start with?
