I fly fish all the time( thus the screen name) but recently had my first encounter with “sewage fungus”, which aesthetically similar to didymo, is actually a bacterium. Does anyone know if it is necessary to take the same precautions in cleaning gear as are required when exposed to didymo? Does the same danger of spreading the bacterium exist as with the diatom
