I have a friend of mine who’s son joined the Marines. In High School he didn’t get good grades and was considered a class clown. However once he was in bootcamp, he thrived and was the top student in his class. He decides that he wants to go into the special forces.
To make the long story short, they did a background check and found out that he was taking Ritalin when he was a kid. I guess the military considers ritalin a mind altering drug and he was discharged from the service.
I wonder how many people are aware of this? Seems like the doctors are passing out Ritalin like its vitamin C nowadays. I just wonder how will our military do in the future.
