Ridiculous Ratings on Some Threads!

Hey everyone,

I have been wondering wtf is going on with the star system for a while now. Now I don’t have any problem with multiple threads having 5 stars at all. Most of them deserve the rating. Whether it’s the test taper, noob shit, ancillary info, pct ideas, excellent informative logs, hey, these are all very worthy threads.

But wtf is going on with the following?

Should I take 1-AD??

Results with d-bol??

Adex not for human consumption??

These do not fit the bill in the slightest in my opinion.
Are we in agreement here or am I missing something?

I think if we’re going to utilize a ratings system, then let’s keep it honest people. This shit is getting ridiculous to say the least.

              Rant over and out.

I agree.
How do you even rate shit anyways?

High rating gets people to read the thread, usually ridiculous ones like you listed are funny.

Well, yes and no…

A high rating isn’t necessarily the end all for making a thread interesting enough to read. I think that more or less gets covered in the first sentences which one can plainly see when moving the cursor over the title.

While you think and are entitled to your opinion that certain threads which you call ridiculous, and I might call downright stupid are “funny”, in my opinion they shouldn’t be here. Like Rainjack has said, the steroid forum is a very serious topic forum, which doesn’t really have a place for “comedy” or aimless and void of intelligent subject matter in it. This is heavy, serious shit and should have steroid related querries not humorous, stupid, or ignorant threads. Those should be weeded out by the mods in my opinion. I’m not talking about general questions or things that won’t be interesting to everyone, I’m talking about the idiotic or troll-like threads that just plain don’t belong here. They clutter up the place and need to go as they suit no purpose other than entertaining the trolls who start them and guys who enjoy that shit, of which you might be one, no offense.

Agreed. Stupid/funny stuff should be kept in the Get a Life or SAMA sections.

While those two forums are great for comedy, the rest were, and should remain, serious.

But if it’s not a troll, and it is really some moron i.e. 15 year old wanting to juice, then you can’t blame people for some of the responses.

Ideally, no one should start a dumb thread, but we all know that some moron who’s just come in from BB.com is going to ask some ghey question.

I don’t even pay attention to the stars.

I think they have some merit when used properly.

They are probably most valuable to the passing noob who wouldn’t ordinarily pay attention if the first sentences went over his head in terminology, but seeing a 5 star rating, if accurate, would let him know, “Hey wait a minute, maybe I better check this out, as it must be important in some way to AAS use.”

On a lesser note, it is pleasing to some when they know they’ve produced a quality thread regarded by more than a few people as being worthy of attention, and knowing that now he/she could be helping more people in some way than without the stars for reasons I mentioned in the first paragraph. I don’t mean this in an egotistical way, just that some members, ie: Bushy and many others, really do try to go out of their way to help the noobs and guys who might not be familiar with certain aspects of the game.

                I'll shutup now.

I thought the stars had to do how popular a thread was in views not how good it was by opinion. I just figured out how to rate a thread, I gave you three stars, and I probably won’t ever rate one again. But I did learn something.

I never even look at them… i forget thay are there!

I don’t think most people bother rating individual threads very often. If there was a pop-up that asked for your rating when you left a topic it would help (but be a pain in the ass). Also, since there’s no way of seeing how many people voted the ratings are somewhat meaningless.

you can rate threads at the very top of the thread. i’ll give this one 5 starts just out of spite

OK…

I gave this thread a 3. (Wow, I feel so important now!)

Hmmm, I didn’t realize you could re-rate. I upgraded you to a 5.

No change… Still 2 stars.

shit, im going back down to 1 star now. this thread sucks

Wonderful, now go back to playing with your tinkertoys.

I too never rated threads in the past. In the future the only time that I will rate a thread is to take emphasis off of a stupid one. Most of the 5 start threads deserve the attention and the sticky to the top.

I still haven’t ever rated a thread yet.
