Rick Mercer's apology

Say, I used to think you were just a pathetic mouse when you were posting all that school-boy rubbish about the girl on the bus. However, I have now come to realize that you have a serious deep rooted inferiority complex that causes you to post shit like this. Get some professional help son or you will have a continued very unhappy life. Good luck.

That’s pretty funny! I hear these jokes (going both ways) all the time. I have a friend in Canada, so we exchange jokes about each other’s country often.

Pretty funny!

No need to get angry over it. It’s amusing and shouldn’t be taken seriously.

Yes, I am American and support the U.S. But give it a rest if you can’t handle a joke or a poke at your home country, ethnic background, religion, etc.

I agree with ya, Nate, that it’s fun to kid each other and what not, but this is just one of about, oh I don’t know, 200,000 or so anti-American posts that say has thrown up.

Granted, we should all act like grown-ups and not let it bother us, but the fact that we’re currently at war tends to make the patriotic feelings rise to the surface. That makes say’s numerous nasty posts all that harder to chuckle at, if you know what I mean.

mamann,

I hear you, but you have to remember that many people have “hidden agendas” when they post on the forum.

If someone is posting something Anti-American, the best thing you can do is totally ignore the post and let it fade away into the forum archives.

Then the poster can’t get a rise out of anyone, as is usually the intent of the post.

Politics and religion are two things I don’t like to discuss, especially in an open forum like this.

There is no right or wrong, just a bunch of varied opinions (and remember what I said about opinions on another thread) and misinformation.

Great points, Nate, about discussing religion and politics.

One exception. I’m right, Say’s wrong.

LOL!

The best response, is not to respond…(Hey, I just responded. Eeek, you can’t win)

I thought this was funny and I’m in the god damn military. Take a joke. Defensiveness is the first sign of insecurity.

I agree, pat. Dammit, there I go, too!

And, oh no, I’ve inadvertently taken the focus off the main subject of this post, which was…

Hell, I can’t remember.

Do you guys train at all or do you just spend all your waking hours on this board bashing each other?

I train & the rest of the board bashes me.

Shit, thanks for reminding me, CGB, I’m missing my workout!

And oh my God! I forgot little Bif’s been in the tub for two hours now - please, let him be okay!!

And all because I couldn’t pull myself away from the goddam computer!

(Hey, CGB, I notice you’re currently on post number one hundred and seventy seven! :-))

OK say. This is my last reply to you.

Adios mutha fucka and have a nice day

say=Bad. United States=Good Guys.

Say, I’m pretty much a red blooded American, but I thought that was hillarious. I’ll have to watch for Rick Mercer.

Thanks

Didn’t Rick Mercer (as well as Jay Leno and “Street Smarts”) steal that bit from Howard Stern?

Anyway, I get up at 4:30 AM to be at the gym by 5:30. There is a show called “Street Smarts” on at this hour. This morning one of the people being quized was Canadian.

Question: What State is the show called “Providence” set in?

Answer: I don’t know. I’m Canadian. I just live here.

Anyway, just to show there are idiots on both sides of the border.

Uh, Rhode Island? I don’t know. I don’t watch that sissy nonsense… bravo to that canadian.

nephorm:

I will spell it out for you. Rick Mercer makes fun of Americans for not knowing Canadian “stuff”.

American TV found Canadian that doesn’t know American “stuff”.

Yes. Providence is the Capital of Rhode Island.

I can be slower if you like.

Here’s my hunch on the canadian anti ‘attitude’ (an oxymoron, as you will soon understand why). The canadians who are the most ‘anti’ are cowards. They know that USA has the liberty, the strength, the values and the MIGHT to back it up. But the weak ones will never accept it. They’ll never put up or shut up. Not one or the other. Too weak for that. Do yourself a favor and never pay attention to any canadian who is anti-american. They’re just hidden victims of capitalism that hide behide the socialist veil. The same gang, in the USA, they’d long be dead (both economically and socially). That’s why they’ll never dare challenge any American face-to-face…too weak, and they know it. These ‘anti’ canadians would need U.S. Marines Boot Camp to teach them, first of all, respect. They’ve never been challenged. No honor to back it up - it takes a spine for that. If dueling was legalized, they’d long be erased from history. USA has a culture of STRENGTH. Canada…er…what culture? What values? What STRENGTH? Finally, the anti-american canadian reaction reminds me of what I read in a book : “Why do you use the word ‘USA’ (o.k. I put the word ‘USA’ for example’s sake) to denote virtuous qualities of character, when that word antagonizes so many people to whom it does not mean the things you mean?” “To those who ask it, my answer is: ‘For the reason that makes you afraid of it’”. Case closed. =0)

To all Americans talking about how we shouldn’t be getting all up tight about this Rick Mercer thing. I dunno about you guys but I have watched This Hour Has 22 Minutes (the show that hes on) and I have seen his “Talking to Americans” bit. Believe me, its not funny, its not an inferiority complex, its like somebody spitting in your face and to me its almost as bad as him burning our flag (God help him if he ever did something like that).

grooveless, the Canadians I know have an orgasm everytime they think about how CANADA burned down the White House in 1812. In one of my English classes a couple years ago (in Ontario) they played a song for me that went “…and the White House burned, burned, burned, and were the ones who did it, yes, were the ones who did, oh, were the ones who did it.” So to reiterate, shithead Canadians that have no balls are the ones jerking off to the War of 1812.

United States=Good Guys, you have to remember that last year at a New York Islanders vs. Toronto Maple Leafs (in New York) game, the Canadian anthem was booed by the crowd. So in actuality, we pioneered it. However, I fucking hate it, any country-bashing in my opinion gives you a ticket for an appointment to get your nuts chopped off. Its fucking retarded.

Nate Dogg, to reiterate what I said earlier. Yes, its one thing to take a poke at your country, ethicity, etc. But to sit through a full half-hour of it would make your blood boil if you saw it. However, if you knew it was good-natured, it wouldn’t bother you at all, as long as it was funny. However, this is not good-natured at all. Its a personal jab.

Don’t get me wrong, I love Canada and most Canadians. However, some I’d like to kill.
