Reverse hypers

I tried doing reverse hypers the other day, well actually backward hypers on a regular hyper bench. I held a dumbbell between my two feet and did my reps. MY LOW BACK GOT PUNISHED. sure my glutes were pumped and my hams a bit too, but the LOW BACK was finished. after that im supposed to do goodmornings, stiffies, and 3 variations of other deadlifts? it didnt seem to work out that way from what i remember.

maybe i missed something but if you are doing westside i am pretty sure you would do reverse hypers at the end of your workout (with abs)
