Up until about 9 months ago I was following a consistent weight lifting routine, and saw very good results. Because I am in the military, the past 7 months I had to ditch the gym and focus purely on combat conditioning/endurance workouts. That being said, I am now in a position where I can focus on a strict weight lifting program in an effort to regain the 10 Ibs of muscle I have lost and hopefully more. Therefore my question is: Since I have a relatively strong base in strenght training, and am not a complete novice to weight lifting, should I approach my return to the weights as a beginner with very little experience, or jump into a more intermediate program?
