Resistance Training on Tabata Method Off Days?

Hey, I’ve recently got into HIIT and the Tabata method to burn off some fat. I was wondering if, during the off days in the tabata method, I can do some resistance training with my upper body. I mean the Tabata method works you pretty hard. I didn’t know if I needed to devote the next day to resting up every part of the body, or just my legs. Thank you for any answers!!!
