14 weeks out of the Georgia’s Strongest Man Competition in Atlanta Georgia June 28, 2014. Have not compete or touched a implement because I needed to work on my base strength and gym lifts. Well I said I wouldn’t return to Strongman until I had a 500 Squat /300 Bench/ 550 Deadlift Raw. Well I have finally smoked all of those on multiple occasions and I’m ready to come back to my roots.
The Entry form for the meet has not been released yet but, have been told there will be a Axle Clean and Press, Farmers, Yoke, Deadlift whether for reps or medley and Stones as always.
Training is obviously going to change up a bit but should be looking something around these lines…
Monday- Lower
Front Squat or SSB Squat. Need upper back work and these are best for it.
RDLs
GHR or Hip Thrusts
Yoke or Farmers Walks
Wednesday- Press
Axle Clean and Press or Lockouts
Barbell or DB Rows
Pullups
Close Grip Press or Floor Press
Thursday- Lower Deadlift
Deadlift From Deficit or Block Pulls
Shrugs or High Pull
Sand Bag Loads or Keg Carries and Load ( won’t have access to stones )
Will be basing around little more block periodization here. Will stay more in the 8-12 range for 4 weeks, 5-8 for 4 weeks, 2-5 for 4 weeks with final 2 weeks mimicking the event best as possible.
Diet will be changing as well since I am able to 231 before even having to worry about cutting ill be dropping protein down to about 1g per pound of bodyweight and then greatly upping carbs to probably close to 500g a day and fat to 120g a day. This has always greatly boosted my recovery and performance how ever I’m usually not as pretty. But oh well.

Nice holds. I definitely want to get to where I’m comfortable with 250 per hand. Seems like all the contest weights are about that.
