Red Wine = Fat Loss & Muscle Gains?

Anyone else see this on the Today Show? Apparantly, there’s a chemical in red wine that hightens muscle gains and promotes fat loss, even helping you fight off diseases and live longer. But doesn’t alcohol lower your testosterone (muscle builder) and raise estrogen (fat gains)? Not that it’s going to affect my red wine intake either way, I’m just curious…

Do you mean Resveratrol?

It’s been talked about a lot around here.

and yeah its Resveratrol, and yeah it seems to be good for you.

That said, I’m sticking with beer. A bit of alcohol will not limit your strength, just don’t get drunk very often.

yup

In that report on the wine they said it has only been proven in rats not people. They said don’t go out and by a bottle yet. From what I understand from other findings grape juice can do just about everything wine does, minus the yucky headache.
