Most guys I know blast/cruise… however you would be surprised to talk to some freakishly strong guys who still cycle, run 1-2 cycles a year, and keep making gains even when they are off. Not naming any names of course, but I always find it surprising. One guy I know runs 2 cycles, 8 weeks each per year. He keeps the total dosage below 1000mg per week, and we will just say he is top 10 in his weight class right now, alltime I believe. His squat and deadlift are ranked in the top 10 all time for sure.
That is definitely not typical though. I would be willing to guess that 90% of the guys that are in the top 20 are doing blast/cruise.
I know it’s been asked a million times, but…
Have you personally seen guys become dependent on injections after a long time of blast/cruise-ing? Or can you get your natural production back up if you “retired” or whatever?
A lot of guys are on hrt that cruise and blast so they never have to worry about coming off.
Well sure, yeah… But COULD they is my question.
It is possible but most guys that go on, and stay on plan on HRT anyway. Most guys that plan to be off totally at some point cycle, or should anyway.
I don’t know a whole lot about steroids to be honest but in my calc 2 class we went over the exponential growth rate function (Q=e^kt) which can be applied to populations, interest rates, and half-life of pharmaceuticals. And my teacher went on about how athletes use the same equation to calculate their dosages and plan their cycles around the date of a drug test.
That was possibly the most intriguing day of class I’ve ever had lol

I would think they’d simply be off cycle when they were scheduled… But what about the random tests?

I train with several powerlifters. There cycles are generally High Tren + DHT derivative + Suspension Pre-Workout or similar. Keep in mind that all 3 of my powerlifting buddies train under the same coach, but High Tren and Test USP Pre-WO (or meet) seems to be the common ground of AAS in powerlifting circles.

Do you know their rationale for include the DHT derivative? I’m not seeing how that contributes to strength gains in my admittedly limited knowledge.
To be perfectly honest, I have no clue why. Masteron and Winstrol remain PL-AAS staples despite the androgenic extremity of Tren.

Personally I don’t advocate winstrol for powerlifting. Though it raises collagen synthesis it lowers the crosslinking and thereby strength of connective tissues. I tried to find where I read that so I could post it but can’t find it quickly and don’t have time to look a lot now.
Masteron, anavar, anadrol are all 3 DHT derivatives that are very popular in powerlifting, along with superdrol. Lots of guys, myself included use it. Personally, I like superdrol more than tren, I just hate I can’t run it very long due to feeling like shit and the toxicity.

Well it has to do with the half-life of many of the drugs because once your “off” the buildup from a decent cycle is still present and the equation is used to make blood levels just right.
But random tests idk …
I have heard a lot of tests of favored athletes have been “lost”… in my mind just another reason to eliminate drug testing. Make it a personal choice.

It basically already works that way in powerlifting. Want to use drugs? Don’t lift in a tested federation. Of course there’s a ton of political bullshit between the federations - and within the feds, with regards to favored athletes - so maybe that’s a bad example.
In short, I agree. It would basically require drug use to be truly elite, but it’s not like being an elite athlete is a particularly healthy endeavor in the first place.

My favorite story is that guy in the UK who used to jump out his window and run like a bat out of hell whenever the drug testing guys would come to his door for an off-season test…lol…can’t test him if you cant catch him…I think Bushy relayed that anecdote.

surprised athlete’s don’t build a nuke shelter in their houses for these occasions

You can get it back up but it takes FOREVER and you better expect your strength to go in reverse for some time.
I agree that most do the blast and cruise.
