Raw Power

Winner, winner, chicken dinner! Steve locked out my last thread, so he wins:

I’ll keep this thread name until i think up something different–which may be when another year passes and this threads gets locked.

Edit: Last page of the last log:

My last post of the old log:

Thanks fellas, for stopping in. I appreciate it.

3’s day, deads. TM 430.

45 x 10, 135 x10, 225 x5, 315 x3, 345 x3, 385 x1, 455 x1 (PR +10 lbs.), 485 x 0, 0.

Prowler: +90 lbs., 6 x40 yds., low/high handles.

Notes: I went off the reservation a little today. Soldog got me pumped up. 455 flew up. 485, not so much. I broke it off the ground but my grip was funky and I set it down. I tried again, and pulled it to a upper shins, but no go. That sum bitch was shockingly heavy compared to 455. I still have a ways to go before I crack 500. I also added 2 more passes to the prowler. My goal is to get to 10 passes and then maybe add some weight. 6 passes was more than enough for today, however. The low handles passes are a real killer.

Jack, that is some serious pulling. you surely could have gotten 470. 500 is just around the corner!

This log needs more prowler vids.

Thanks, MJ! Joe, duly noted. I will try and remedy that.

Prowler vids and scenery pics. The landscape is too flat and the trees too short, 'round har.

Nice pulls, Jack. What mj said…500 is right around the corner.

I see 500 for you by years end.

Nice PR Jack! You and I must have been doing deads about the same time today.

Congrats.

I win!

A plus 10 lb. PR on deadlifts is totally awesome! I’m also amazed how quickly the bar goes from being do-able to being quite shockingly heavy.

Yes you do…

Nice PR on deads. I was very confused when I entered this thread. I’m still looking for a chicken dinner.

Not only does the bar become immovable very quickly on deadlift but I find that once your body says enough, it means e-freaking-nuff. I’ve had days when I’ve pulled heavy, fried it all and not been able to pull 2 plates for a drop set.

Thanks, fellas, for the encouragement. Ms. O, you are spot on about deads. Sorry about the chicken dinner. That went to Steve, he is the winner.

3’s day, Bench, TM 265.

Bench: 45 x20, 95 x 15, 135 x10, 185 x3, 215 x 3, 240 x 8.

Incline Bench: 135 x 5, 185 x 5, 225 x 4, 3, 2.

Krock Rows: 130 x 10, 140 x10, 150 x (13rh, 9lh).

Cable Rows: 135 x10, 150 x10, 165 x 10, 180 x 10, 195 x10.

DBBench: 50 x10, 75 x 10, 100 x5.

Bench Finisher: 185 x 9.

Pushup Plank, fingers back: 1 Min.

Notes: I felt pretty good today, with standard joint creeks and pains. I must have been grinding out the last rep on incline bench, because some guy came over to save me and freaking pulled the bar up the last few inches. I had not even resorted to my reserve cheater arch yet. I must have looked like a damsel in distress, i guess. Also, I could not get the same reps with my dominant hand on the last set of Krocks, it was weird. They are usually pretty balanced. I think I just ran out of gas. They had some bullshit class going, so no prowler. I was not that broken hearted, truth be told. Rib eyes are on the grill.

240 x 8 on bench is well over your total max.

Nice lifting and hope the ribeyes were cooked just right. I did cajun black’nd talapia on the grill tonight. The wife made a nice cucumber sauce to cool it down. Perfect.

Nice work. Note on prowler, I keep it on lower days, plus max bench day. That is mostly because the dude who owns it trains with me that day, so I might as well let him use his own equipment, lol. Also, have you tried pushing it with the uprights? That is the way 99 percent of the prowler population uses it.

Nice amount of work there. Good lookin bench.

Good looking work all the way around, Jack. Really like the bench and Krocs.

Were you able to keep your temper under control, when you were “rescued”? Man that pisses me off! Fortunately, I don’t have to worry about it at home.

Ribeyes sound good! But not on the menu. I hope to gain 15# of pork (BBQ), next week.

You know what I love about the logs over here? You guys talk about how much delicious stuff you’re going eat rather than how little. I could really use a steak.
