Rate My Pie

No I didn’t meant to post this in the SAMA forums.

I got antsy for some pumpkin pie and decided to try and make some myself. I think I did pretty good and it tasted good as well. Just wanting some opinions on content (sadly you won’t get to taste my pie).

Here are the ingredients:

Pie
15 oz Libby’s Canned pumpkin.
12 oz no fat Evaporated Milk
2 large eggs
1/2 C Splenda Brown Sugar (my pie is really sweet, so I may be able to halve this next time or I may try honey instead)
1/2 Tsp Ground Cinnamon
3/4 to 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice

Crust
1 large egg
Walnuts, Pecans, Pumpkin Seeds and Flax Seed. I honestly don’t know how much I used of each, just enough to cover the bottom of the pan though

15 mins at 425 then 45 mins at 350.

Thoughts?

Yummy.

Couple things.

Yeah, reduce the sugar to your taste.

Make sure the ingredients say pumpkin and not squash.

Watch the sugar in the evaporated milk.

I add figs and/or dates to my nut crust. Better texture.

My favorite part of late fall, pumpkin pie. Sounds incredible, is it too late for a pre digestion picture of a slice? that way it can be fairly rated…
