“Catholicism is the law of life, the life of intelligence, the solution of all problems. Catholicism is the truth, and everything that departs from it one iota is disorder, deception and error.”
Juan Donoso Cortes, Marquis of Valdegamas

Not a Dawkins fan AT ALL…but this is especially great and apropos at a time like this:

“University is not a ‘safe space’. If you need a safe space, go home, hug your teddy bear, and suck your thumb until you’re ready for university.”

“Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face”

I’ve been using this one a fair bit lately. Mike Tyson, not sure he meant it to be so concise and broad though

“You have to be crappy to get better.”

Orangetown Assassin’s coach from the movie Goon.

“It may be a reflection on human nature, that such devices should be necessary to control the abuses of government. But what is government itself, but the greatest of all reflections on human nature? If angels were to govern men, neither external nor internal controls on government would be necessary. In framing a government which is to be administered by men over men, the great difficulty lies in this: you must first enable the government to control the governed; and in the next place oblige it to control itself. A dependence on the people is, no doubt, the primary control on the government; but experience has taught mankind the necessity of auxiliary precautions.”

-James Madison

?Was, then, the American Revolution effected, was the American Confederacy formed, was the precious blood of thousands spilt, and the hard-earned substance of millions lavished, not that the people of America should enjoy peace, liberty, and safety, but that the government of the individual States, that particular municipal establishments, might enjoy a certain extent of power, and be arrayed with certain dignities and attributes of sovereignty??

-James Madison

“Not all Democrats are horse thieves. But in my experience all horse thieves are Democrats.”

– Warren Delano (Franklin Roosevelt’s grandfather).

“I go and I keep friends with Mr. Rosenthal at The New York Times and people of that sort, you know. And all–I mean, not all the Jews, but a lot of the Jews are great friends of mine, they swarm around me and are friendly to me because they know that I’m friendly with Israel. But they don’t know how I really feel about what they are doing to this country. And I have no power, no way to handle them, but I would stand up if under proper circumstances.”

–Billy Graham.

“Out of context” indeed. If Barack Obama were recorded making these exact remarks in this exact context, this board with explode with jubilation–“our suspicions have finally been vindicated.”

Which is not to say he’s Hitler reborn. In fact he’s been a voice of reason for some time, and has done some considerable good for this country. But this kind of talk about Jews “controlling” things and acting as some sort of monolithic force with a sinister plan–whether he’s talking about some Jews or all Jews or just American Jews–is exactly the kind of thing that the ADL is designed to respond to.

My comment was meant to highlight the irony of someone moralizing with this in his closet. No criticism intended toward the person who originally quoted him.[/quote]

Jews are of all kinds, but the vast majority of American Jews are marxist bastards filled with white guilt and self hate demonstrated by their economic affluence and consistent democratic voting block. Zionists and Isreali Jews are mostly the same Marxists bastards, but with a Nationalist bent. An Isreali will happily romp in a gay bar while making excuses for their government temporarily chemically sterilizing African immigrants.

Jews generally as a culture are closer to Muslims in terms of being anti-antithetical to individualism, common law, and a limited state. However they have very deep in group preferences, strong families, and a strong in group preferences to keeping men and women sexually responsible.

“The real problem of poverty is not a problem of ‘distribution’ but of production. The poor are poor not because something is being withheld from them but because, for whatever reason, they are not producing enough.”

-Henry Hazlitt

Re-reading Can Capitalism Survive and thought the introduction (from one of Schumpeter’s other works) is worth noting:

“Can capitalism survive? No, I do not think it can. The thesis I shall endeavor to establish is that the actual and prospective performance of the capitalist system is such as to negative the idea of its breaking down under the weight of economic failure, but that its very success undermines the social institutions which protect it, and inevitably creates conditions in which it will not be able to live and which strongly point to socialism as the heir apparent.”

-Joseph Schumpeter 1942
