Question on Variation

Every squat variation I employ makes my deadlift go through the fucking roof and slams the brakes on my squat. My best single ply pull is 771 and my best squat is a feeble 667.

Has anyone else experienced this? If so, what squat variations actually translate to a better squat? I know it depends on my own body type and weaknesses but what has worked for other peope?

I just did my first 700 competition squat last weekend. In training I did lots of weighted walking lunges in preparation for this meet. I felt like it helped a lot with balancing my leg strength during the training cycle. However I have used both pause and close stance squats with good success in the past as well
