Question On Rehab (Prob For Mike Robertson)

All others are free to chime in of course! but Since mike does alot of the rehab articles etc…

Anyway my question is on one whats best after an injury. OF course the regular ans is RICE… reduce the post hypoxic damage etc. Admittedly it works prety good with me and the basketball team that i train.

Then i watch the WEstside Video “the reactive method” i believe its called. And they have the guywho invented jumpstretchbands come in and do a session on rehab and stretching. He says RICE is not the best post injury. He does traction (pulling the joints apart) immediately after injury. Appears thats better…

I have not dealt with THAT many injuries as this guy so ill try it next time something happens but what do you think coach?

I think it depends on the injury. I dont see traction helping a sprained ankle too much and I dont see RICE helping an impingment in the shoulder. Correct me if I am wrong. Interested in seeing what Mike has to say as well.

ya i know what you mean… coach mike? please advise:) thanks!
