Question on Bill Phillips

Has anyone tried his book “how to increase your bench by 50lb’s?” I am looking to increase my bench, just wondering if anyones tried it and/or what you think of it. Any other good methods to follow to pack on weight on your bench?
-thanks

Westside or Metal Militia. Go with a good powerlifting program, focusing not just on the bench but on squats, deadlifts, and rows.

nothing against bill phillips but theres like 30 more people that I would spend my money on to learn how to increase my bench

Small detail, but the book was written by SHAWN Phillips, not Bill.

It’s a simple periodization program. It’s effective, but there are several on this site that are just as good or better.

Check out Charles Staley’s “From Russia With Love” article on this site. It details two excellent bench programs.

I tried it. I got a copy of it back in 1997 I think it was along with my Muscle Media magazine. It works. It doesn’t increase your bench by 50 lbs but it increase your bench by 25 lbs and then you do the program again and it increases your bench by another 25 lbs making it a total of 50 lbs. It is a good program.

It only works for the beginner…
