Question for the UK Based Powerlifters

I am looking to compete at county level in the next 12-18 months (Raw, novice events).

I was wondering if someone might be able to give a breakdown of the sort of weights one should be lifting/pulling in this standard of competition.

I am weighing in at around 245lbs at the moment if this helps with weight class.

My first aim would be to compete and show the events respect. By having the numbers it will help with goal setting also.

I have tried looking online but can’t seem to find these sort of figures. My apologies if they are easy to track down.

Also if anyone knows of any events in the South-West coming up it would be good to get some details

Get yourself there!!

Thanks for the link mate. Lift, eat, sleep for the forseeable then

Go to

http://www.bdfpa.co.uk/

and look at the results, your near the 110kg (17st 4lb or 242lb) so you might find your lifts aren’t too far off for raw (aka unequipped). Age is also categorised too, @40 your classed as Master1, new age class every 5 years.

Also GB powerlifting (was part of BWL) do a few raw comps too.

BTW what are you current lifts & training routine?

Thanks Dax,
I will check that site out in a second.

My lifts are currently…

Bench Press - 315 x 2
Deadlift - 405 x 1
Squat - 300 x 6
Military Press - 200 x 1

The deadlifts and squats are base level lifts. I have only done them a handful of times so expect to push those lifts up a lot in the next 12 months. Im starting a minimum 6 month cycle of 5/3/1 in November.
