I really like the ideas put forward by Dave Tate and Westside (max effort days and dynamic days, etc.). How would you go about incorporating more “functional” exercises into a system like that?
Westside is not a huge fan of the so called “functional” exercises. If the exercise is leg/core focused, I would put it on the leg day split up between dynamic and max effort days. If the exercise is more of a pressing type exercise, then put it on the max and dynamic effort bench day.
