Does anyone know of any exercise for the lateral side of the calf muscles? When I do calf raises it seems that I only get the medial side of the calf muscles. Thanks.
Do them seated, if you have one of those machines at your gym. This places more burden on the soleus (lateral calf).
The soleus runs from the heel to the top of the lower leg, while the gastrocnemius attaches at the bottom of the thigh, so when you bend the knee it’s not stretched enough to work at full strength.
