Question 2 in Massachusetts

I know there are some Massachusetts residents on here. How many of you are planning on voting on question 2 on the upcoming ballot? For those who don’t know, Question 2 will replace criminal penalties for possession of less that 1 ounce of pot with a civil penalty of $100. Violations will not go on a person’s permanent record.

I will be voting to support the measure, but I’m just curious as to whether there’s anyone else on T-Nation from MA who will be voting either for or against it? What are your thoughts?

Also, how do people feel about question 1, which will ultimately eliminate the state income tax by 2010. I haven’t decided how I will vote on that yet.

I am not from Mass. but it looks like this will pass. I live in Ohio where MJ was decriminalized in the 70’s. 100 grams(3 and a half ounces) and under gets you a civil penalty of 100 dollars and no record, though some counties will take your drivers license away for either 90 days or 6 months. Don’t get caught with paraphernalia though.

Yeah, I figured paraphernalia was where they would get you. I’m surprised it’s taken MA this long to do it. It seems like there are a lot of other states out there where MJ has been decriminalized.

I’m from RI so I hope it goes through. RI and Mass always seem to follow suit.

I don’t ever buy or carry it anymore ever, but just in case.
