Saw this on the news Monday or Sunday cant remember. What got me was the area flooded is the size of Texas. Thats pretty fucking big.
Local news reported it as "the equivalent to France and Germany combined" which is only 75% of one of our states, this sucks but is a refreshing change from bushfire season, which sucks more. Also speaking as a resident of brisbane, its oddly disconnected in that areas with flooding are in chaos and areas without are almost totally normal.
I loved the Aussie commentary. It seems to me, though, at least one of them could have been running the halls of that office building screaming "Hey!, you motherfuckers need to move your cars now!" rather than just sitting and watching the water rise like that.
