I have a question for all you nutritional experts. After I workout I will immediately (within 20 minutes of finishing) drink my PWO shake consisting of 55 grams of maltodextrin and 30-35 grams of whey isolate. I usually then won’t eat a real food meal until about 1 1/2 to 2 hours after I workout. Is that bad? Do I need to eat real food sooner or am I ok because of the pwo shake?
If trying to lose weight, eating 1 1/2 - 2 hours after your post-workout shake is recommended.
If trying to gain, it’s best to eat a meal 30-60 minutes after your post-workout shake.
Meals should consist of carbs and protein and very little fat after your workout.
