Pumping Iron Playlist

iTunes just posted a playlist called "Pumping Iron."
A mix intended to be played while--well--pumping iron.

Here it is:

  1. Welcome to the Jungle - GnR
  2. We will rock you - Queen
  3. Crazy train - Ozzy
  4. Start me up - Stones
  5. Born in the USA - Springsteen
  6. Lose yourself - Eminem
  7. You've got another thing coming - Judas Priest
  8. Eye of the tiger - Survivor
  9. Bring the noise - Anthrax and PE
  10. Mama said knock you out - LL Cool J
  11. Voodoo child - Hendrix
  12. Head like a hole - 9 inch nails
  13. Even flow - Pearl Jam
  14. Fight the power - PE
  15. Fortunate son - CCR
  16. Sabotage - Beastie Boys
  17. What's my name? - DMX
  18. Bullet wiht butterfly wings - Smashing Pumpkins
  19. Rebel yell - Billy Idol
  20. Sleep now in the fire - Rage Against the Machine
  21. Highway star - Deep Purple
  22. BYOB - System of a Down
  23. American Idiot - Green Day
  24. Any Way you want it - Journey
  25. Vertigo - U2

That's a pretty politically correct mix. Most of them are the clean versions--can't have that.

What's your workout playlist? Here's mine (ten songs for brevity's sake)

  1. I don't give a fuck - Peaches
  2. Hardest button to button - White Stripes
  3. Sick boy - Social D
  4. Let them eat war - Bad Religion
  5. Three little birds - Bob Marley
  6. C30, C60, C90 - Bow Wow Wow
  7. Ah ha - Butthole Surfers
  8. Straight to hell - The Clash
  9. Black tongue - Yeah Yeah Yeahs
  10. Run - Snow Patrol

...That was kinda tough. I like a mix of fast and mellow. I was at one of Hank Rollins' spoken word tours and he said he only listens to despressing love songs when he works out. Focusing on misery and pain helps his intensity apparently. Could be something to that....

Two words: "Killswitch Engage"

That iTunes list isn't really that bad. I've probably had about half of them on rotation at one time or another. Some of them I just don't get, though, and fail to see how anyone could get amped listening to U2.

My gym playlist is always changing because after a few trips to the gym, some songs "lose their effect" and I need to switch it up. And other times I don't need music so much as I just want my own music and not the gym's radio. So I'll just randomly play songs, not looking for any particular song to get geeked to.

These guys are f'n awesome. I also like just about anything from Disturbed.

The following songs seem to have some kind of energistic effect on me:

Daniel Beddingfield - Gotta Get Thru It
Drowning Pool - Step up
Rammstein - Du Hast
Snoop Dogg - Beautiful
Limp Bizkit - Red Light Green Light
Metalica - Fuel
ShineDown - Save me
ShineDown - Simple man

I'm looking for some new songs. Welcome for any additions. Anyone have any good techno groups? I like a hard driving beat to lift to but usually listen to softer stuff when running or doing cardio.

PANTERA, Living Sacrifice, Pre-haircut Metallica, I made my own 'Best of Rage Against the Machine', and Suicidal Tendencies 'Prime Cuts'. I just want hard and fast, preferably no singing or somebody trying to hold a note (ballad).

Slayer - Seasons in the Abyss is a good one, compared to the albums before it, its more progressive, if thats possible.

Here are some recent tunes:

Pig Latin - Dillinger Escape Plan with Mike Patton
Chasing Fear - Testament
The Code is red long live the code - Napalm Death
Dog Day - Gorefest
Vote with a bullet - C.O.C.
Part of me (live) - Tool
Rocket 88 - Warrior Soul
Monster - Beatsteaks
Flushings - Helmet
Knock me down - Chili Peppers
Duality - Slipknot
Primal Concrete Sledge - Pantera
Irrelevant thoughts - Prong
The mob goes wild - Clutch

Prong's records 'Beg to differ' & 'Prove you wrong' might work well too.

What!?!? No Drive-By Truckers?? What's the matter with kids now-a-days?

Try AC/DC - Shoot to Thrill, Hells Bells, TNT. Not techno but driving beats fo' sho'

Switchback - Celldweller
I Am Loco - ILL Nino
Forgotten - Spineshank
