Pulled Rhomboid

Stretching a pulled muscle isn’t that great of an idea. Neither is doing strength work. If you still have pain outside of general muscle soreness after training, you need to take more time off. Otherwise you’ll keep injuring a damaged muscle.

Soft tissue work is not necessarily the answer all the time either… if you have an acute injury, you might want to avoid the soft tissue work. I don’t think it’s acute anymore though based on your explanation, so you are probably good to go now.

Yeah I just don’t really know what to do at this point. The pain is only occasional and even when it occurs it’s only a dull aching pain throughout my upper left back. I may start training again next week.

I’m really starting to lose hope as to when this injury will heal. It feels no different after three weeks of rest/NSAIDs than it did before I took the time off. I’m at a loss as to what to do, and my morale is rock bottom. Does anyone have advice or experience with an injury like this?

Sorry to hear man… keep going to the pros, and KEEP SEARCHING FOR SOMEONE WHO HAS BEEN THERE BEFORE AND HAD RESULTS (I think this is as, if not more, important!).

Yeah, unfortunately I haven’t been able to find anyone who has had the same problem as me. I continue to try searching for people with similar injuries but no luck so far.

Well I got an MRI and found out that the muscle tear has fully healed, so that’s good news. However, I also found out that I have 2 herniated thoracic disks in my back, so that is most likely what is causing the referred pain. Any advice on how to deal with this?
