Pulled My Serratus Anterior

Hey guys

I seem to have pulled my Serratus Anterior on my left side. I had just finished a max set on the deadlift when I was asked to spot someone the bench. The guy failed completely and I guess a combination of me being fatigue from the deadlift and now having to lift this weight off the guy from an awkward position caused the strain.

Its very sore when I breath in deeply, lean or stretch to the opposite side, try sitting up straight with no back support and lying in certain positions. Have any of you experienced this before and what did you do to rehab it?


First, rest and let it recover, and ice it. Second, once the pain goes away, start doing light serratus anterior strengthening drills, i.e. push-up plus, scap push-ups, etc.
