Psychedelic Rock

After seeing a few music threads, I thought I would start a thread on psychedelic rock. I just love the music from this era, whether it be famous bands like The Grateful Dead, Pink Floyd, Jefferson Airplane, The Doors, Janis Joplin, Cream, and Jimi Hendrix or lesser known bands (at least they seem to be lesser known today) like Iron Butterfly, 13th Floor Elevators, Kaleidoscope, Spirit, and The Electric Prunes. I was wondering if there were any other psychedelic fans.

I always thought Pink Floyd were the unquestioned masters of that genre.

But that’s just me.

Agreed.

The Dead always struck me as more of a jam band. Definitely Hendrix and the Doors though.

To me a lot of prog rock blurs the line of psychedelic. IE King Crimson or ELP.

I love Pink Floyd, grateful dead, the doors, Eric Clapton bands like Cream etc.

but, I like most older rock bands.

I also think that some of the prog rock is similar to psychedelic rock.

I have never heard of any of these bands and will check them out. Thanks.
