Protein Requirement

I read 1.5 grams of protein per pound of body mass.

Do you use total body mass or lean body mass?

Based on a couple online calculators I am about 35 BMI.

I have used total body weight x 1 as a minimum. I might eat more protein if I were trying to cycle carbs.

Nate Miyaki had an article called Summer Shredding where he recommended 1-1.5 grams per pound of lean body mass. That’s a huge range. For example, if you estimate that I have 93 pounds of lean mass then my protein target is anywhere from 93-140 grams per day. If I just look at BW x 1 then, I’m looking at about 110 grams protein per day.
