Proper Squat Form

I am a tall person and when i squat heavy my knees want to come together…should i squat a lighter weight to keep better form and am i risking injury if i continue to do this…

This is a hip strength imbalance issue. Back the squat weight down to where you can keep good form and doo some leg abductor training. Also, make sure you’re using stable shoes or lift barefoot (or as near as your facility allows, like wrestling shoes).

When doing your squats, you need to mentally focus on spreading the ground with your feet. Read any squat article by Dave Tate in previous issues. If you try to push out with your feet, you will keep your knees from drifting inwards.
