Prone Bridge/Plank Form

Should you retract your scapula when doing the plank/ bridge? bring shoulder blades together as much as possible?

Generally: It doesn’t matter. It’s not a chest or shoulder exercise, so it’s not better or healthier to do it. Focus on keeping your body straight, not on your arms or shoulders.

Nope. Whether you’re doing the plank on straight arms (push-up position) or on bent arms/elbows, either retracting your shoulder blades or over-extending them will make the exercise easier by slightly changing your center of gravity and taking you out of a neutral posture.

Focus on just keeping everything tight and solid in that neutral position without retracting/over-extending the shoulders.
