Hey all,
Recently, a local photographer has contacted me about doing a shoot in about 3-4 weeks. A buddy of mine worked with him last year, and the pics turned out great. I have competed in a teen bodybuilding contest once, so I am not totally in the dark here… but I was wondering…
Does anyone have any tips for preparing for a photo shoot?
I’d obviously like to show up with decent skin, a good haircut, moderate tan, and pretty chiseled. Any tips welcome!
Thanks
If you’ve competed, you’d know how to cut down, then carb up that day, I’d imagine.
Other than that… go get yourself a haircut a week or so before, go tanning, and oil yourself up like Nate Green did in his first photo he posted here.
There is an article in the archives by “Swole Cat” about “7 Days to Ultimate Leanness.” Go find that article, read it, and follow it EXACTLY as written.

I found that pic. Looks like too much oil to me… but I’ll note it. Thanks for your opinion.
I think carbing up only for one day doesn’t allow enough time.
I checked out that link Nate Dogg, seems like not too many people supported it… But I will mull it over again. Thanks bud.
Trandahl,
I consulted with a few bodybuilding photographers and bodybuilders (male & female) and wrote a free article about preparing for an upcoming photo shoot called the “Top Ten Tips To Prepare For A Photo Shoot.” Of the ten tips, there may be one or two things that can be helpful to you.
If you’re interested PM me. Good luck with your upcoming shoot,
Matt

Any chance you could post the article here? Sounds interesting
