Pre-Workout Food in the Morning?

Hey everybody, first time posting, been reading for awhile.

My question is about pre-workout nutrition.

Currently I train 4x/week, and my goals are increasing strength and size. I train first thing in the morning, and I want to make sure I’m giving myself the optimum fuel before hitting the gym.

Right now, I have about a serving and a half of oats, 1 scoop of Metabolic Drive and 1 serving of Gatorade, which is what I mix my creatine in.

Post-workout I have the standard serving of Surge Recovery and a full meal about an hour later.

I’ve read an article by Dr. Berardi (sorry, I don’t know how to link) regarding pre-workout nutrition. In this article he says when training first thing in the morning, consume 1/2-1 serving of Surge plus an additional serving of Gatorade within 10 minutes of beginning the workout. My question is would I be better served if I went with this plan or if what I’m doing now is just as good.

Currently I’m 6’6", 215 lbs. Unsure of BF%.

My guess is as long as you are getting some sort of protein/carb/fats in the morning and a shit ton of water you should be fine.

You gotta find what works for you.

I train in the morning and I get sick if I eat solid food close to a workout. So I’ve been doing Surge + a scoop of whey in the morning. It gives me a nice energy boost, but I don’t get sick at all. So that’s what works for me.
