Pre-Bed Nutrition

I was curious what people will throw in thier shakes pre-bed to have slower digesting shakes.

Me:
Metabolic Drive chocolate
Olive/Canola Oil
Milk
Ice Cream (only if I have a late hockey practice)

I usually throw a banana and maybe some pineapple in the blender too for nutritional purposes too.
what does everyone else use?

I usually mix low fat cottage cheese, low fat yogurt, natural peanut butter, some flax seeds, and a scoop of chocolate protein in a bowl. it tastes like peanut butter cup pudding…kind of

Same for me sans the yogurt. IF you mix it in a blender with just a little water it is pudding. Even managed to get my gf to eat it that way.

Night time delight
1 cup cottage cheese
1 scoop whey
1 tbsp PB
2 tbsp flax meal
blend it all up and add a dash of cinnamon

475 cals
protein-55g
carb-16g (5g of fibre)
fat-21g

3/4s of a container of LF cottage cheese, sometimes some nuts, and a few fish oil caps.
My pre-sleep meal tends to to be lower in cals than my normal meals since it usually comes only 1.5 hrs after my prior meal. I also take some BCAAs when I wake up 2/3 through the nite to piss.

*2 scoops Low-Carb Chocolate Grow! (I still call it that)
*2 tbsp or so Natural Peanut Butter.

Mix it together with some water and throw it in the freezer for 30 minutes. Tastes great. Then I have a handfull of BCAA’s.

Have any of you ever read Tudor Bompa’s Theory and Methodology of Training? I’m wondering what your takes are when he states that Protein can tend to cause insomnia when taken late at night. Along with some of the other things, I know that’s outdated, but what was the thinking behind this? He doesn’t elaborate much.

That sounds great. I never thought of cinnamon. What flavour protein.

I could see something like French Vanilla being really good

As of late omelete, fruit, Grow! Whey or Metabolic Drive and fishoils.
